Sam and Phil

On occasion, it just never works out for us to meet our couples in person prior to their wedding weekend and this was one of those situations.  But thanks to social media, we felt as though we had met.  Hugs all around for everyone prior to the rehearsal (course we are huggers anyway so nothing unusual there!)

A simple yet oh so elegant intimate outdoor fall wedding with a gorgeous color palette and GASP, the weather was perfect!  Didn’t have to dodge rain the entire day!  Sam’s dress was just perfect for her; simple, elegant and absolutely beautiful!

Sam fashioned the centerpieces and her special touches were visible in many places during their special day.  Sometimes we find out details on the wedding day that we didn’t know about that make everything fall right into place in our heads.  Sam was a VT cheerleader so there was no lack of Hokie cheers, led by the bride, while VT played East Carolina.  Of course, someone had it streaming in so everyone could keep up with the score.

There were many moments throughout the day when Sam and Phil’s love for each other was absolutely shining; a glowing reminder of why we love what we do!  Another perfect wedding day in the books for EBS!

Ashley and Patrick

Well, we have been dodging rain all year long for our weddings and Ashley and Patrick’s was no exception.  We had a particularly chilly, rainy fall day at the Lake to have an outdoor ceremony but we managed to squeeze it in between showers!  Our amazing photographer even managed some outdoor shots before it just simply opened up and poured.  Guests traveled from all over and the majority of their family members came from Florida to help them celebrate as the Lake holds a special significance for Ashley and Patrick as the place of their proposal.

A neutral color palette (which we love) of blush, ivory and gold along with a smaller intimate gathering of family and close friends resulted in an a relaxed and very special day for Ashley and Patrick.

The groom’s mother provided desserts; the amazing Kaitlyn knocked it out of the park with the wedding cake; Ashley’s grandfather made the table numbers and picture frames; and guest favors were s’mores.  Being from Florida, Ashley wanted some Disney for her day so she chose some ceremony songs that brought a little Disney magic to their wedding day.

Katie and Mark

From the “Save the Dates” that resembled VT football tickets to colors of maroon and orange, this was a true “Hokie” wedding from start to finish.
Katie wrote a personal note to Coach Beamer detailing their love of “all things Hokie” and how Hokie football had been such a large part of their life while at VT and invited him to the rehearsal dinner.  Coach Beamer and his wife graciously accepted, came to the rehearsal dinner and need I say, were the highlight of the evening!
On to the wedding day.  Katie had her heart set on a wedding at the Pylons at War Memorial and rainy weather threatened us all day long.  About an hour before the wedding was to have started, the skies opened up and it just absolutely poured!  We brought everyone inside and the decision was made to try to wait it out.  The rain finally let up, we quickly moved everyone up to the Pylons and Katie was able to have her outdoor wedding overlooking the Drillfield!  And the sun even came out right as the ceremony began.
Everyone then proceeded to party the rest of the evening away as they literally stayed on the dance floor until the last dance song was played.  A true sign of a good time that was had by all!

Nikki and Chris

We just simply love it when our clients “make it their own” and enlist our help to make it all come together.  It’s what we do and it’s what we love to do!
When we first met with Nikki and Chris, they told us right up front that they were a bit “non-traditional” and wanted to make it their own.  And they did it!  We loved helping them and loved seeing what was around the next corner in Nikki’s mind as her vision was developed on their very special day.
They are big gamers and Nikki is very crafty so she made all the centerpieces, the guest favors, the table numbers AND here’s the big one, folks. . . she made her dress!  And everything was “hers” down to the smallest detail.
We had to make the call to move their outdoor ceremony inside but we just re-created everything from outside and put it all together inside!  And gotta say that it was just beautiful and perfect for them!  Or at least that’s what they told us! A small, intimate day for very close family and friends.
The overall theme of the day was “gaming” and “Appalachian” everything which included an Appalachian Stack cake made by the amazing Kaitlyn Davidson with Events by Sherri!  Had never even heard of this kind of cake before Nikki and Chris introduced us to it but it’s something that Nikki makes regularly from scratch.  And it was delicious. . . . a mouth-watering combination of spice cake and apple butter!
We wish Nikki and Chris (and all our clients) the very best life has to offer as they move forward as Mr. and Mrs. !

Lindley & Eric

Lindley and Eric’s wedding day dawned with perfect weather; a little warm for us but at least we weren’t dodging storms as we had been for almost everyone other wedding weekend we had prior to this one!
Their personal touches were evident in every aspect of their day which we LOVE to see!  They opted for no First Look but did a First Touch and exchanged letters and gifts, all without seeing each other prior to the ceremony.  Such sweet, sweet pics of that personal and private time together.  And of course, we had to wait to see the pics because that was “their” time together.
Their outdoor ceremony was witnessed by sweet family and friends and was accentuated by live music and a knot tying ceremony.  And how amazing is this . . . a live painting of the ceremony that was started during the ceremony and completed and presented to Lindley and Eric later in the evening!
With a backdrop of amazing florals everywhere and equally amazing food, guests danced the night away with a band that really knew how to keep the guests on that dance floor!  Instead of shopping ‘til they dropped, they all danced ‘til they dropped!  A sparkler exit sent them off in style to their life together as Mr. and Mrs.!
