Kimmie and Jake

What a perfect day Saturday for a wedding; course all our “wedding days” are perfect for our couples!  And we just love seeing how each couple we work with makes their wedding day “their” wedding day.  And this one was certainly no exception.

Kimmie is Filipino so they incorporated some Filipino customs throughout the day such as the “cord and veil” ceremony during their Mass.  A special square veil is pinned to the bride’s hair and then draped over the groom’s shoulder and represents everything and everyone who will protect them, their home and their families.  The cord is a long rosary in the shape of a figure 8 that goes over the veil and around the wedding couple’s shoulders and is a symbol of their intimate union and a sign of their bond to each other, and their inseparable unity.

Kimmie surprised Jake with golf carts to take the wedding party out and about VT’s campus for pictures after the ceremony and then on to the reception location.  And we managed to pull off that surprise against some pretty amazing odds but we covered it all beautifully and a LOT of people were involved in that one to keep that surprise from him until the last minute!  And it worked!

Then on to the cocktail hour and reception where everyone had a blast and danced the night away!  Including one said wedding planner here and yep, I admit it!  In addition, stations of amazing food, florals, cake, photo booth, yard games, and décor all combined to create the perfect evening for the happy couple!

Cory and Joe

Perfect day for an outdoor ceremony for Cory and Joe!  Why do we always mention the weather.  Guess it’s because, as wedding coordinators, weather is ALWAYS an issue for us, one way or the other.

Cory knew what she wanted for her décor from the minute we met.  Her favorite movie is “Alice in Wonderland” and she took elements of the movie and we worked with her from our inventory to create the perfect look and feel for their day.  For her centerpieces, Cory provided the books and we provided the teacups, the keys, and the vintage table numbers.  A perfect example of how items from our inventory worked perfectly with the bride to create her overall vision!

On to a plated dinner served to perfection, a dessert bar complete with s’mores, dancing to tunes spun by a great DJ, and a sparkler exit to top off a perfect day!  Now they are off on their honeymoon, hopefully basking in the sunshine and relaxing!

Nicole and Brandon

Well, the rain held off on Saturday for Nicole and Brandon’s wedding day and we managed the outdoor ceremony they both really wanted!  Sun came out and it was just perfect!

I first met Nicole when she applied for an internship through RU with Events by Sherri.  Before we were even remotely through the interview, I knew she was special and that I wanted her to intern with us.  And she proved that my instincts are still pretty good!  Hated to lose her when she graduated and moved on BUT we got to help with her very special wedding day.

If ever two people are more suited for each other, these two certainly are.  They complete each other and it’s evidenced by the love they share for each other.  A very laid back day with Nicole’s touches all through the wedding and the ceremony.  Simple and completely “Nicole and Brandon” from the centerpieces supplied by Events by Sherri to the engraved stemless wine glasses from the happy couple! And another amazing wedding in the books for us!
