Emily and Bo

We just love ALL of our couples and we love ALL of our weddings!  In fact, broken record here, we LOVE what we do!

Emily and Bo’s wedding was just a dream wedding from our point of view!  Such a sweet couple and so very much in love with each other.  Emily just glowed as she walked down the aisle to Bo.  Surrounded by a LOT of family and friends, they exchanged vows in a lovely older church in downtown Roanoke.

A live band at cocktail hour provided the bluegrass music that the bride’s father is really into and guests were treated to amazing food and drinks as they mingled with each other while the professional pics were being taken of the wedding party.

Specialty lighting of special places in Roanoke such as the Mill Mountain Star and other images that had special meaning to the bride and groom were in evidence during the reception.  And after descending the wonderful staircase at the venue, they dined and mingled with their guests and then the party really started with Soul Expressions, a band that I just LOVE.  A great party band with band members that kept the guests dancing the rest of the evening.

A bride and groom who said, on their way out, that it was “perfect!”  Something we always, always, love to hear.

Thanks to the great team of vendors that all pulled together to make it special for Emily and Bo.

Enjoy some of the pictures taken by EBS during the wedding. Unfortunately we weren't able to capture any during the ceremony so you will have to follow Anna Marie (link above) to see of the wonderful images she captured!

I mean...what an entrance!!

Molly and Aaron

To say that family pulled together for Molly and Aaron’s wedding was a bit of an understatement.  We have truly never seen that many family members all work together to just “get ‘er done!”  In fact, I asked them all if they hired out.  We had setup done in record time and it was perfect!

Molly’s mother and her aunt had a vision for their wedding day, along with Molly, and they scoured antique shops and sales, store sales, and anywhere else they could find vintage items for over a year for the simple, elegant and vintage look and feel of their entire day.  Everywhere you turned, there was a special touch but when you looked at everything together, it just came together beautifully into a cohesive vision!  So much so that we are surely hoping that they won’t want to keep all the beautiful items that were used and Events by Sherri can manage to snag some of them for our inventory to share with other clients!

Molly’s cousin performed the ceremony and family members and Greek Life friends were attendants for the couple.  They had a “dirt” ceremony, as the minister referred to it (I call it a tree planting ceremony).  There were pictures of loved ones on a remembrance table and the guest book was a lab book.  And how cute is this; the seating chart was a Periodic Table that the bride’s mother spent HOURS and HOURS putting together (Aaron is working on his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry).

A beautiful day with picture perfect weather, gorgeous outdoor setting, a stunning sunset and a couple so much in love with each other made for a spectacular day!

Thanks to all the vendors who worked together, and the family members, to make their day truly one that we hope they will never forget!

Please enjoy some of the pictures EBS was able to capture. These do not do justice to all the wonderful details of the day. Keep up with Essential Sunshine Photography and EJF Video Productions for the amazing images and footage they captured during the day.

Such a perfect start to the day!

Even the cows made an appearance to the ceremony!

Joanna and Andrew

I met Joanna and Andrew a while back when working with her dad on another wedding setup at the Taubman Museum of Art.  I immediately loved both of them and thought they were just the perfect couple, loads of fun and obviously very much in love with each other.  So I was beyond thrilled when I was asked to work with them on their wedding.

Amid whites, blushes and pinks for their colors with a good deal of sparkly, Mark Frye of Creative Occasions in Vinton, floral designer extraordinaire, AND Father of the Bride, created a perfect setting for their wedding.  And how cool was it that Joanna really had no idea what all he had planned for them until she walked in and saw it for the first time after everything was set!
From ombre’ florals coming down the gorgeous stairs at the TMA to a five-layer cake on a cake table covered with flowers, to a different look on almost each table, it was exquisite.  Yet comfortable.  A blend of vintage elements along with a soft, elegant look that welcomed each and every guest with open arms.

The look on Andrew’s face when he saw Joanna coming down the aisle toward him was one of pure love and joy.  And the look on Joanna’s face when she saw Andrew was exactly the same.
An amazing ceremony and a “helluva party” at the reception with some of the best in the business!
